IS BUHARI OUR ONLY SAVIOUR? MY ANSWER TO A FACEBOOK GROUP

I don't strongly believe that BUHARI is our only saviour in Nigeria. Our change to positive attitudes as Nigerians may be all that we need as "saviour" and then a good leader like BUHARI.

I believe General Muhammad Buhari will continue to be relevant in the Nigerian Politics despite his "old age". 2011 is just 2 years from now and I believe if BUHARI will be alive he will still win the election even if he will be 100 years by then. How old was Mandela when he won election as South Africa’s president in 1994? Or how old was Obasanjo in 1999?

As long as honesty and the love for a better Nigeria remain to be few of General Buhari's many good leadership qualities, his age doesn't matter to us as Nigerians. All we want is him and many of his kind to lead this country.

By the time he becomes the C-in-C (InshaALLAH) he wouldn't be the only one to put positive ideas into moving our great country Nigeria forward, of course "young, fresh, good, honest, patroitic and vibrant people" will be with him directly or otherwise to aid him in achieving the good goals he intends for Nigeria. He cannot be the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and at the same time still serve in the capacity of the Vice President, the Senate president, the speaker, the governor of a state, the minister, or a local government chairman. Others have to assist and work with him. Nigeria is our country.

I will continue to recall this saying by one of our greatest Nigerian leaders ever... "This generation of Nigerians and indeed the future generations have no other country than Nigeria. We must remain here and salvage it TOGETHER". This leader was none other than BUHARI and even then he did not say that he will salvage Nigeria ALONE but he said we shall do it TOGETHER. This leader did it with the likes of Idiaghbon (RIP) and the good others.

He wasn't the only one that did it in 1983-85. Those few golden years he spent as our leader were extremely better than the years spent by those leaders who never wished Our dear Nigeria any good or progress. He wouldn't have squandered our resources (both human and mineral). There is no argument on these fact because he has had many opportunities to "steal" from the national treasury but he did not.

The idea of forming a new political party would be futile as long as INEC and its cohorts remain to be what they are - the "evil referee" that feeds on our right to vote for good leaders. None of those who unlawfully benefitted from our national treasury will ever allow BUHARI to come back. They believe that he will hunt them to their graves and collect back what they have stolen.

Or do you think the people who betrayed the trust of more than 150 million Nigerians for over 8 years would allow things to follow their natural course?

Changing or forming another party by our Dear General will be fruitless as long as Nigerians will continue to accept dubious election results and think that those results are unquestionable even in the highest court of the land... despite obvious reasons that the elections were rigged.

We will continue to waste our Country's good name and honour as long as we remain to be what we presently are. We will not regain our dignity among the civilized and developed nations as long as we don't believe in changing what is evil with good. No amount of General Buharis will change Nigeria as long as we remain to be the biggest cause of our problems. Even if our highly respected General becomes the C-in-C, he would not deliver us if we remain to be the problem of Nigeria. BUHARI is good and patroitic in his own capacity, but how many of us are like him? We are just not serious! Not even President Barack Hussein Obama - The Change American people believed in and voted for, can change Nigeria as long as we decide to stubbornly remain static.

I am not being pessimistic about Nigeria and its good people, but these are the realities on ground...even the unborn Nigerian knows these facts, talkless of the whole world.

My intention for posting these statements/rejoinder to the group is nothing but to "re-narrate" to all of us the truth and nothing but the truth regarding our dear country NIGERIA. It's time to wake up NIGERIANS. Let us say NO to decietful and unpatroitic politicians for our dear Nigeria’s progress.
